Akiba Aussies

Above are some of the dogs I have bred or owned

I fell in love with Aussies in 1989 when two highly trained Aussies visited a club meeting and proceeded to discover drugs planted in our coat pockets.  These bright & funny dogs stole my heart and shortly after their daughter Annie came to live with me.  Since then my goal has been to produce quality dogs who are wonderful companions as well as top winners.  My dogs and their offspring have won Best In Show, Terrier groups and Award of Merit at the National Specialty and Westminster. Just as important are those happy, healthy puppies who go to live with loving families.  To date I have produced over 35 champions.

I love helping others who desire to breed and show.  Some of the new breeders I've had the pleasure of working with are Susan Sargent Mason, Kim Floyd -Johmanda and Anne & Craig Mitchell of  Kambara who have produced one of the top winning Aussies of all time -BISS BIS GCh Kambara's Zebulon.

Equally important are those long standing breeders I've worked with.  I am proud of my association with Avocation (Finland), FCI Judge Clara Ines Pulido Reyes of Criadero (Colombia), All Breed Judge Diane Riley of Tasdale (New Zealand), Taufield (Australia), Benayr (USA)  and many others in the US and overseas.     I imported dogs from Finland to expand and enhance the bloodlines of my dogs. One important dog was Ch Tatongs Eclipse Of The Moon "Konsta" who returned to Finland but left several promising puppies behind that have impacted my breeding program for generations.

It is important to continue to learn.  Fortunately it is also something I enjoy. In this quest I have attended seminars by experts such as George Alston (Handling), Myra Savant Harris (Canine Repro & Whelping), Dr Robert Hutchinson (Canine Reproduction), Dr Claudia Orlandi (ABC's of Breeding) and many others.

I breed for quality not quantity, if you would like to be considered for an Aussie baby please take a moment to read some of our expectations  and some of the comments from families with Akiba puppies. On October 18,2010 I was approved as the first Australian Terrier breeder to the program.

The Breeder of Merit Program honors breeder/exhibitors' dedication and hard work as they continue to produce dogs that are healthy, capable, and beautiful. The foundation of today's AKC, Breeders of Merit have the power to influence, guide, and teach future breeders, exhibitors, and all purebred dog owners.
