Home Sweet Home

It has always been a dream for my dogs to have their very own building! A place where they would be safe and secure and could come and go as they please while I'm working to support them. The dream is finally coming true...it's not finished yet but here it is so far. The dogs still get lots of house time and of course Mommies and babies are Always in the house under my watchful eye.

Welcome to Casa de Akiba

Here's the inside where dogs can take a nap or enjoy the A/C    Each dog area is 3 feet by 3 feet and 5 feet high...so no escaping

The right side is smaller runs for the Veterans, they don't run and play like the young kids! The brick pavers are great for the floor of the runs...I have a whole new appreciation for brick masons after laying them

This side is finally finished. These runs are larger (8'X10') for the young dogs. I've already started expanding by adding a one dog run next to these.

This is the back run. It measures 10 feet by 20 feet and is large enough so older pups can have plenty of room to run and play, the inside area is also bigger to accommodate several young dogs. Originally gravel or cement was going to be put down but then I received a great deal on what are called brick wall units. Larger than regular pavers. It will be so much better than the sand foundation when finished.

I've arranged it so no two males are beside each other....no fence fighting.  You may notice some of the runs still have dog houses...that's because Aussies love to play king on the mountain.
