Happy Holidays!

It’s time for my annual Christmas letter. Gee it seems the years just keep going faster and faster! This year has been pretty eventful & successful. The year began with both Pearl and Gabby finishing their championships in February. In October of last year I saw a dog at the Nationals and fell in love I contacted his breeder and asked when she would be having more pups and in December Gypsy his sister arrived. Gypsy began her show career in June with a win her first time in the ring!

Perhaps the highlight of the year was traveling to Canada. I had never visited there and it is really beautiful country. Canadians are really nice and of course I attended some dog shows Shows in Canada are much more relaxed than in the USA. I’m proud to say I came home with two new Canadian Champions; Ch Avocation Arctic Manifest (Paavo) and Ch Benayr Love Potion (Gypsy). Paavo finished his Canadian championship in just three shows with two Group Two placements. Of course 911 had put a new perspective on things and what used to be an easy border crossing has turned into a major ordeal when U.S. agents would not accept just a drivers license to let us cross.

One of my goals for the year was to incorporate a new bloodline with my dogs. I visited a lot of internet kennels looking for good Aussies. During the spring I began talking with Susan Bentley; Gypsy’s breeder about Ch Benayr Worldwide Webster coming to South Carolina. In August Webster finally arrived after months of dealing with heat embargos. His first show was the first weekend of September. Webster stepped into the ring and not only won Best of Breed but went onto a Terrier Group Three that day. To make it a perfect weekend Gypsy finished her AKC Championship! In just 3 months Webster has won his invitation to the AKC Invitational in Orlando and is ranked #12 in the country. The weekend before Thanksgiving Webster won the Terrier Group in Fayetteville, NC

Look out for him next year! During all this has been what seems like a never ending process of fixing up the old homestead! I finally finished the kitchen floor and have now begun on the living room! A misting system was added to the kennel runs to help the dogs keep cool during the heat of the summer. I still have a bed room floor & a kennel run foundation to look forward to next year. Oh! And there is all that insulation sitting there to be put up in the kennel building…geeze!!

A past due trip to Kansas City is planned for Christmas and I can’t wait to get home and see everyone. Pearl & Bonnie have presented me with several youngsters to show next year and I’m looking forward to it.

I hope all of you have a healthy & happy Holidays!

Janet
